Standards meeting report – Motorised furniture
The inaugural meeting of CEN TC207 WG9 TG1 was recently held in Paris. The Task Group is looking at how to create a European Standard for furniture that will offer a presumption of conformity to manufacturers and importers of motorised furniture.
The committee is looking at working with the electrical committee CENELEC TC61 WG6 to produce two complementary standards for motorised furniture.
Key areas to address are stability, strength and durability and entrapment. These will be looked at in future meetings.
