FIRA and the FRQG worked together to develop this guide as a means of maintaining safety levels in the UK, following the withdrawal of the British Standards covering the requirements for glass in furniture
The guide covers requirements for safety, stability, strength and durability for all types of furniture featuring glass for domestic use such as tables, trolleys, wall-hung and free-standing mirrors, shelving systems, wall hanging and other cabinets with a surface area of greater or equal to 0.06 m.
