Furniture Industry Invited to Discover How Sustainability Can Drive Commercial Success
The Furniture Makers’ Company – the City of London livery company and charity for the furnishing industry – is inviting professionals from across the furniture and interiors sector to attend ‘Making Commercial Sense of Sustainability’, a one-day event focused on turning environmental responsibility into commercial opportunity.
- Date: Thursday 19 March
- Time: 11:00am – 4:00pm
- Location: Furniture Makers’ Hall, London
This practical, insight-driven event will bring together business leaders, sustainability specialists, manufacturers, designers, and specifiers to examine how sustainability can be embedded into business strategy in a way that supports growth, resilience and long-term profitability.
As economic pressures, regulatory change and customer expectations continue to intensify, the event will offer practical insights rather than theory, addressing how businesses can respond realistically and competitively. Topics will include managing climate risk, navigating sustainability legislation, communicating credible sustainability messages, and adopting circular economy principles that add value rather than cost.
Joanna Knight, chairman of the Climate Change and Sustainability Committee at The Furniture Makers’ Company, said: “Sustainability is no longer a ‘nice to have’ – it is central to commercial decision-making. This event is about cutting through complexity and focusing on what genuinely makes business sense, helping companies move forward with confidence rather than hesitation.”
