Cause for concern over the potential toxicity of some flame retardant chemicals has prompted the UK's largest furniture association to investigate further.

FIRA and The Furniture Makers' Company have co-operated on an industry-wide survey, the results of which have been revealed at a one-day conference at Furniture Makers' Hall on Thursday 29th October.
October has seen a flurry of activity in the European Standards committees. Four revised standard have received positive results at the Formal Vote stage. This means the documents will be published as British Standards within the next 6 months.
