FIRA has published a new report ‘Sustainability Hotspot Analysis for the Furniture Industry’, which is the second in a series of circular economy initiatives investigated by the Furniture Industry Research Association and presents the wide ranging aspects of a sustainability hotspot analysis by researching and contextualising the commercial, reputational and material source risks that exist within supply chains.
BFC welcomes Government’s Industrial Strategy proposals but calls for ‘meaningful’, sector-specific support and long-term commitment
The British Furniture Confederation (BFC) has responded to the Government’s Green Paper, ‘Building our Industrial Strategy’ with a vigorous call for long term, meaningful and practical sector-specific support, particularly in addressing the skills gap and helping companies to export.
The Furniture Industry Research Association recently featured on the BBC ‘Rip Off Britain’ programme, which focused on the dangers rogue mattresses in terms of safety and paying over the odds for a product which is not fit for purpose.
The projects core aim is to provide resources that will enable a whole SME sector, namely Furniture, to embrace the relevant policies and ensure that people living with disability can secure long-term employment in an industrial sector, through its SMEs being able to supply the support they require.
FIRA International has invested heavily in moving its Service Technicians web portal from a data centre to the cloud, utilising Amazon Web Services. The move enables some of the biggest furniture players, and their customers, to benefit from the latest software and data security, alongside enhanced reporting capabilities to identify trends and issues quicker, such as product or handling defects.
