Upholstered Furniture Design Brief Template Updated to Reflect Regulatory Changes

The Furniture Industry Research Association has published an updated version of its Upholstered Furniture Design Brief Template, reflecting the October 2025 amendments to the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations.

The latest 2026 edition has been revised to remove references to the requirement for swing labels, in line with the updated legislation. It continues to provide a structured framework to support the development of clear, robust and comprehensive design briefs for upholstered furniture.

The Upholstered Furniture Design Brief Template 2026 is available free of charge for FIRA members as part of their membership benefits.
