Technical Forum announced for the contract and office furniture sector (new date)

The Furniture Industry Research Association has announced plans to host a free Technical Forum aimed at those within the contract and office furniture sector. The Forum, taking place on 14th November, boasts a diverse agenda and is being delivered by the experts at FIRA International.

Topics due to be discussed include:

  • Standards update (covering both European & US standards) which have an impact on the contract and office furniture sector, including potential changes to standards in the future
  • The Machinery Directive and how this impacts office and contract furniture
  • Formaldehyde / volatile organic compounds (VOC) – including details n the Department for Environment Food & Rural Affairs’ (DEFRA) Clean Air Strategy
  • REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) update
  • Government update, including Brexit, productivity and export support for the sector
  • Industry 4.0 - harnessing opportunities for contract and office furniture
  • Open discussion on industry needs - including how the Furniture Industry Research Association may be able to support through future projects

Taking place at FIRA International’s facilities in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, the event runs from 10.00-14.30 and includes a networking lunch. The free Forum is open to all with an involvement, or interest, in the contract and office furniture markets. (Non-members of the Furniture Industry Research Association are welcome to attend.)
