Standards meeting report - Remanufacturing

The second meeting of the Technical Product Realisation Committee for BS8887:220 Design for manufacture, assembly, disassembly and end-of-life processing (MADE) took place at BSi offices in Chiswick.

The Technical committee are supporting work by BSi to evaluate whether different industrial sectors would benefit from a sector specific version of BS8887:220. FIRA have developed a Remanufacturing Standard as part of its Circular Economy Programme of work and have been actively involved along with other furniture industry representatives in discussions about whether it would beneficial for BSi to seek to develop a process standard for remanufacturing in the furniture industry.
