The ARC Monitor Arm, manufactured by SBFI, has received a FIRA Ergonomics Excellence Award, which recognises companies who design and manufacture ergonomically outstanding products, especially those that meet and generally exceed the requirements of British and European standards.
FIRA’s Ergonomics Excellence accolade is the third award for the ARC range, following on from a Silver Award from NeoCon and a 2017 iF Design Award.
Speaking on the Ergonomics Excellence Award, Levent Caglar, Senior Ergonomist at FIRA International said, “There were a number of reasons why the ARC Monitor Arm received our Ergonomics Excellence Award. However a standout reason was the design of the detachable VESA plate, which allowed both hands to be free when attaching and removing the monitor due to its simple, user-friendly release and lock mechanism; whereas many other VESA plates require a button to be continually pressed whilst attaching and removing the monitor.
“Furthermore, the range includes a multi-rail attachment which suits those who use two monitors on their workstation. This attachment was ergonomically designed to be telescopic, enabling users to extend and shorten the horizontal distance between both screens simply by turning the dial in the centre of the rail. This eliminated the need to move each monitor independently and ensured both remained level.”
In addition, the ARC Monitor Arm was also tested by FIRA International to, and met, applicable requirements of BS EN ISO 9241-5:1999 Ergonomic requirements for office work with visual display terminals (VDTs). Workstation layout and postural requirements.
The ARC Monitor Arm joins over 34 products with a FIRA Ergonomics Excellence Award, including task seating, desking, computer accessories, storage, counters, mattresses and garden furniture.
