The National Audit Office has published its report into the UK’s product safety system which references the work of the Office for Product Safety and Standards.

Furniture is one sector referenced in the report, including a case study on current work to update the UK Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988.

Commenting on the new report, the Government said, "We will use its recommendations as we develop a new regulatory framework to protect consumers and ensure businesses understand their legal obligations. The Government’s top priority is to keep people safe which is why OPSS is leading efforts to ensure goods sold in the UK meet some of the strictest safety laws in the world."
