Proposal for EU restriction for formaldehyde from wood published

In May 2022 the European Union offered notification to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) that a restriction has been proposed on the release of formaldehyde from a range of products, including furniture, where sources of formaldehyde have been deliberately added. The consultation with WTO ends in July and then the proposal will go forward and be published in the Official Journal of the European Union. It will be from that date that timescales included in the requirements will start.
