Lean Training Toolkit Part 8 - Line Balancing Released for Members
FIRA’s Lean Manufacturing Training Toolkit – Part 8, Line Balancing, is now available for members of The Research Association.
This toolkit provides theoretical and practical training in the Lean principle of line balancing. It includes an agenda for planning a training course, a PowerPoint presentation with notes, and templates.
Line balancing is a production technique that optimises machine and operator time to eliminate bottlenecks and be as efficient as possible. It is defined as the technique to align customer demand with production output by levelling cycle times.
The benefits of Line Balancing include:
- Increased production efficiency: By evenly distributing workload, line balancing minimises idle time and waiting periods, maximising production output
- Reduced costs: Minimising waste and bottlenecks can lead to lower production costs
- Improved quality: A Consistent workflow can help identify and address quality issues more effectively
Members of The Research Association can access the Lean Manufacturing Training Toolkit – Part 8, Line Balancing here.
