Input into blueprint for the next Environment Act

FIRA is committed to promoting responsible stewardship of the environment. One example of this commitment is its ongoing engagement in the wider environmental and sustainability community, attending events on waste and resource management, sustainable timber as well as keeping abreast of current legislation and the proposed environmental legislation framework post BREXIT.

The Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) are a leading worldwide alliance of environment and sustainability professionals, in which FIRA International’s technical consultants actively participate and seek to disseminate knowledge to the FIRA membership. IEMA are actively participating in the Broadway Initiative, which is a project that is working to deliver an initial blueprint for the next Environment Act. The general principles of this act will apply to all UK nations with a focus on the Westminster Act announced by the Prime Minister.

IEMA are seeking feedback from a number of industries and FIRA have agreed to collate responses from the FIRA membership and other interested parties within the furniture industry.

If you would like to review and comment on the attached draft please do so using this template and return to scochrane@fira.co.uk who will be collating feedback.

The deadline for responses is 17 October 2018.
