A number of British and European standards have gone through the five year review period and have been reconfirmed, a process that means the standards in their current form will remain in force. These standards include:

  • BS 5223-2: 1999 Specification for hospital bedding. Combustion modified, flexible polyurethane, general purpose foam mattress cores. Specification
  • BS 5223-4: 1976 Specification for hospital bedding. Mattress covers of polyurethane coated nylon

In addition FIRA expects that the following standards will also be reconfirmed in the coming weeks:

  • BS EN 1730: 2012 Furniture. Tables. Test methods for the determination of stability, strength and durability
