Furniture Industry Research Association published new Lean Manufacturing Training Toolkit Part 2 - '7 Wastes’ now available

The Furniture Industry Research Association has released Part 2 of their five-part Lean Manufacturing Training Toolkit for members.

This second part of the training toolkit focuses on the ‘7 Wastes’.

In manufacturing, there are typically seven different types of waste that can occur, and to run a successful business, it is important to eliminate any wasteful activities that don't add value.

Eliminating waste is a key component of lean manufacturing principles and can help increase profitability. The training toolkit provides all the necessary information to perform practical and theoretical exercises related to this lean principle. It includes a combination of the following:

  • Agenda to plan a training course
  • PowerPoint presentation with notes
  • Interactive games/exercises

Parts 3 to 5 of this Lean Manufacturing Training Toolkit, which will be released over the coming weeks, will provide training for the following topics:

  • Visual management
  • Standardised work
  • Quality, Cost, Delivery, Measures
