Flammability and FR Chemicals Technical Forum

*This event is at capacity and registrations are currently closed*

In anticipation of the expected consultation from the UK Government about the future of the domestic furniture flammability regulations and increasing concerns about the health and environmental impacts of many of the chemicals used to impart flame resistance to textiles and foams FIRA invites its members to a special technical forum workshop where the industry can share thoughts and expectations to develop a coherent industry position heading into the consultation.

This technical forum, which is exclusive to members of the Research Association, will take place on Tuesday 20th September at our new state of the art laboratory in Stevenage, however there will also be the opportunity to participate in the discussions remotely.

FIRA Experts Howard James, Steve Cotton and John Hubbard will present a short background presentation on the issues surrounding flammability including the current status of the legislation and what we might expect from the Government review, the testing regimes for upholstered furniture and the chemical regulations that impact the control of Flame retardant chemicals at the UK, EU and UN levels. Following the background there will be the opportunity for a full discussion around the table.
