FIRA Publishes 2025 Annual Review

We are pleased to announce the publication of our 2025 Annual Review, which highlights a year of strengthened advocacy, and significant contributions to standards development across the furniture sector.

In 2025, we welcomed 20 new members and supported more than 227 companies with expert technical guidance on product safety, ergonomics, flammability, and regulatory compliance - demonstrating the trust placed in our specialist services.

Advocacy remained a priority; we worked closely with the British Furniture Confederation (BFC) on key regulatory issues and also hosted a combined industry reception and BFC Confederation Lunch at Westminster, reinforcing the sector's collective voice with government.

Throughout the year, we delivered several significant projects, including an updated Carbon Footprint Calculator, new sustainability guidance, the Statistics Digest 2025, and a practical guide to interpreting structural test reports.

We also continued to play a leading role in UK, European, and international standards development, contributing to updates on fire safety regulations, Digital Product Passports, and electrically operated furniture standards.

Looking ahead to 2026, we will expand our research programme, deliver new member events, and publish an updated Flammability Guide to support upcoming regulatory changes.
