Exova BM TRADA Seminar: Rail Fire Regulations and How to Enter the Marine Market
Regulation and testing expert, Exova Warringtonfire is hosting a free one-day seminar on the new European rail fire testing standard EN 45545 and on how to enter the marine market. The seminar is aimed at businesses who manufacture materials that could be suitable for either of the two markets and who need to understand more about their rigorous testing and certification requirements.
Hosted in conjunction with Warrington Certification, the day will feature a panel of industry experts who will offer insights and practical advice on these markets. The seminar is free and will be held on Monday 19 November at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester city centre.
Split into two distinct sessions, the rail event will run from 9.30 am to 12.45 pm and will include a series of short presentations from Exova Warringtonfire and industry experts, giving essential guidance regarding the changing rolling stock reaction to fire regulations.
The marine event will run from 1.45 pm to 4 pm and will focus on what is an incredibly profitable and untapped sector for many manufacturers. The route to market is slightly different for marine, so Exova Warringtonfire and the panel of industry experts will give practical advice and guidance on how to manufacture and generate business within the sector.
Speakers during the day include:
- Dr Sam Sambasivan, Materials Technology from London Underground/Crossrail
- David Tooley from Mott MacDonald
- Oliver Vardy, Policy Lead from MCA
- Beth Dean, Catherine Henry and Janet Murrell from Exova Warringtonfire
The events are free and CPD certified. They can be booked for the morning or afternoon only, or as a full day. There are also opportunities for a limited number of people to join one of two free Exova Warringtonfire laboratory tours taking place either after the rail event or before the marine event. The tours will include a live test demonstration. Transport will be provided to and from the Museum of Science and Industry and will take about 30 minutes each way.
