Ergonomic Cafe receive 4 Ergonomics Excellence Awards
Four IT accessory products from designers and manufacturers, Ergonomic Cafe, have received the FIRA International Ergonomics Excellence Award. The Award recognises companies who design and manufacture ergonomically outstanding products, with a focus on those which are likely to improve efficiency, productivity and well-being for the user(s).
The four products recognised are:
- Go Mobile laptop stand range (10”-13” and 14”– 17”)
- LSP (Laptop Survival Pack)
- TSP (Tablet Survival Pack)
- Uprise laptop stand
The first product, Ergonomic Cafe’s Go Mobile laptop stand, was recognised in part as it has nine settings which enable the user to adjust the height of their laptop screen, helping to keep necks and backs straighter, allowing the user to adopt the posture recommended by BS EN ISO 9241-5:1999 Ergonomic requirements for office work with visual display terminals (VDTs). Workstation layout and postural requirements.
During user trials conducted by the ergonomics experts at FIRA International, the majority of users of the LSP laptop stand reported the product noticeably increased their available desk space and improved their comfort when working at a desk.
The TSP stand (which is compatible with iPads, Microsoft Surface, Galaxy, Kindle Fire etc.) was recognised mainly due to its two variable angle settings which enabled users to raise their tablet to a more desirable angle and height for viewing and working. Furthermore the TSP can be used to support ether portrait or landscape mode. The stand also folds to configure into a compact case for storage of a compact keyboard whilst on the move. Folding to just 322mm x 160mm x 26mm and weight just 210 grams making it easy and light for the user to transport.
The Uprise laptop stand was the final product from Ergonomics Cafe to be recognised with an award. Uprise is different to most laptop stands as it’s designed to not only fit standard laptops, but also enable laptops with a limited range of pivot in the screen to achieve a vertical setup. Again, with nine height settings it’s suitable for the majority of users, enabling them to keep necks and backs straighter when working.
Speaking on the four FIRA International Ergonomics Excellence Awards, John Andrews, MD at Ergonomic Cafe said “It’s great to receive these accolades from FIRA International. All our office based and mobile display screen equipment solutions are designed in-house, and thinking of user comfort is always at the heart of our designs. As such our main goal is to deliver products that can be adjusted to suit your individual needs.
“An increase in flexible working has led to a surge in more than one person using the same work area at different times of the day or week. At Ergonomic Cafe we recognise that each person is an individual with specific needs such as height and reach. Therefore these four products were designed to not only offer a wide range of adjustment but to also be adjustable in seconds, so each individual can work in comfort and not compromise on well-being.”
