Consultancy on proposal to reclassify Medium Chain Chlorinated Paraffins
The UK Government ahs opened a consultancy on a proposal to reclassify Medium Chain Chlorinated Paraffins as Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs). One of the registered uses under REACH for the MCCPs is as a flame retardant for textiles.
DEFRA is considering submitting a proposal to the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants to reclassify Medium Chain Chlorinated Paraffins (C14-C17) (MCCPs) as POPs. They are currently seeking comments from across industry on these proposals.
