BSI Mirror Committee - chain of custody updates

The BSI Mirror Committee recently met to discuss the development of ISO/PC 308 - chain of custody standard.

The proposed standard is intended to provide a straightforward and consistent approach to the implementation and management of a chain of custody in a supply chain. It also aims to provide a framework for the development of sector-specific standards for chains of custody, including guidance on when specific models may be appropriate.

During the meeting the committee drafted a response to the proposed scope of the generic chain of custody standard. Furthermore they rejected the proposal to exclude timber and timber products from the generic standard.

FIRA members can access the full meetings notes here, which includes details on the benefits of adoption, and considers whether this new standard may duplicate other chain of custody standards that exist.
