Phil joined FIRA International in 2001, having previously spent 13 years in manufacturing industry, specialising in special purpose machinery for the global paper and film industry.
Originally responsible for FIRA International’s product testing and certification department, Phil progressed through the business, taking responsibility for the commercial team and the technical services and research departments before becoming General Manager in 2012.
Phil brings a wealth of experience and management skills, plus strong technical knowledge to FIRA International. He is heavily involved in British and European Standards development for furniture, chairing two European standards committees.
As well as running FIRA International, Phil is also a Director of the Furniture Industry Research Association and on the executive board of the British Furniture Confederation.
