Introduced in March 2013, the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR) prohibits placing illegally harvested timber and timber products, such as wooden furniture, onto the EU market. It places obligations on those who first place products on the market and requires those who buy or sell products already placed on the market to maintain records to enable supply chain traceability.
Compliance remains a concern for many businesses within the furniture supply chain, as failure to meet the Regulation could result in substantial fines and seizing of timber/product.
FIRA International's one-day EUTR Awareness course will help you to understand and meet your legal obligations when importing, selling and trading timber/timber products in the European Union.
