Stuart Cochrane

Stuart’s role as a Sustainability Consultant requires broad expertise as he leads industry through the rapidly evolving Circular Economy.

He is not only responsible for research and development but will also ensure that FIRA International’s work relating to Club Green and the Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme (FISP) is delivered to the highest standards in support of our sector.

Stuart’s business and academic track records make him an ideal expert for sustainability issues. He ran his own business for 15 years where he leveraged continuous improvement to achieve commercial success. Because of his passion for sustainability Stuart attained a MSc in Architecture, specialising in Advanced Energy and Environmental Studies. He is also an Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (PIEMA) practitioner and is actively engaged within this organisation’s community.

Further expertise includes contributions to GASCO consultations and the development of the Natural Capital Framework during its consultation process.

His strong commercial background, combined with the practical application of his academic attainments, ensure that Stuart is ideally placed to leverage best practice and learnings inside and outside the furniture industry to promote sustainable business development for FIRA International’s clients and the Association.
