There are many aspects of beds and mattresses that require testing.

Standards exist to enable the structural performance of beds to be assessed. However, it is important to recognise that bunk beds and mattresses MUST, as a result of legislation, meet standards appertaining to safety and flammability respectively.

Tests include:

  • - Structural testing of bedsteads for domestic and contract use
  • - Structural testing of bunk beds for domestic and contract use 
  • - Stability of bedsteads and bunk beds for domestic and contract use
  • - Bunk Bed (Entrapment Hazard) (Safety) Regulations
  • - Flammability
  • - Mattress performance
