FIRA undertakes a series of tests on raw materials used in the manufacture of furniture and related items. We have specific expertise in the testing of wood based and solid timber products.

Typical test regimes include the assessment of board quality (MDF and particleboard) including the analysis of internal bond strength, screw holding, grit content and dimensional stability.

FIRA’s suite of controlled temperature and humidity rooms are utilised to subject boards and products to typical in service conditions, which enables their end-use suitability to be assessed.

Analysis of samples combined with factory visits enable the team of experts to carry out invaluable production and post production defect analyses.
