Chain of Custody rises up the environmental agenda If you manufacture or sell timber based products you may have been asked the simple question 'where does your product come from?' Many businesses are now being asked searching questions by their customers on the origins of the timber or timber components in your products and some are requesting certified products only, under either the FSC or PEFC schemes. The level of interest may depend on the sector you operate in, as the office and contract sector at present certainly receive more pressure from clients than most. If you are not being asked these questions at present you undoubtedly will be at some point in the future. FIRA have seen an increase in the requests for assistance in implementing a chain of custody system for companies and have responded to this demand by running several half day workshops. These are open to manufacturers, dealerships and retailers. If you would like to find out more about the various schemes and what it takes to implement a certifiable system then click on the link below to find out more.
