Ombudsman service proves a big hit

On the back of its sponsorship of the Best Furniture Product at the forthcoming Grand Designs Awards, The Furniture Ombudsman service is attracting a large increase in web traffic.

After this site's homepage, the most visited page on AskFIRA is the Ombudsman's homepage, which offers links detailing how the service works. It is a similar story on the ADRnow site, with a page on The Furniture Ombudsman being the most accessed on the site after its homepage.

Val Reid, Policy Officer (Alternative Dispute Resolution) at the Advice Services Alliance, added: "It is also the topic about which I receive the most FAQ queries".

A marked rise in the number of hits has been recorded since the sponsorship of the Grand Designs Awards started in December, with multiple weblinks from the three Grand Designs web portals and associated enews, plus advertisements showing The Furniture Ombudsman logo in several home interest titles.

Next week a new partnership programme is set to begin, with The Great Big Home and Furniture Store. This is a retail concept to create London's largest department store for a three day event at Earl's Court on 26-28 September. Members of The Furniture Ombudsman receive a 10% discount on floorspace, and the Ombudsman service will be exhibiting. This will also involve a £500,000 marketing campaign which again will involve weblinks, enews, direct marketing and advertising across all media.

Head of Service Rhainwen Roberts said: "It's fantastic news about the level of web traffic currently being generated for The Furniture Ombudsman, and it shows both the level of interest in our work and how our profile has increased with consumers and the furniture industry. We anticipate that the level of interest will grow further with the Grand Designs Awards coming up in May and with the new partnership with The Great Big Home and Furniture Show".
