New Appointments at FIRA

Raazin Osman - Ergonomics Consultant Raz Osman

Raazin joins FIRA International as an ergonomics consultant working within the ergonomics unit. Raazin is a qualified ergonomist and is a registered member of The Ergonomics Society. He also holds a diploma in Safety, Health and Environmental Management and is a graduate member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).

After graduating as an ergonomist from Loughborough University, Raazin joined Human Applications as an ergonomics consultant/trainer. There he worked for an array of clients across many sectors of industry providing ergonomics input to improve the health, safety and welfare of employees.  Raazin specialises in the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders and has delivered many workshops to increase injury awareness within organisations. 

After successfully completing four years at Human Applications, Raazin has joined FIRA with the intention of furthering his career in the field of ergonomics.  He hopes to apply his skill set to open new streams of work and to be involved in as many different projects as possible.

Asli Tamer Vestlund – Flammability and Environmental ConsultantAsli Tamer Vestlund

Asli is the newest addition to the Research and Consultancy team at FIRA. She will be working with the Flammability team, project managing Technology Strategy Board-funded research projects and supporting Phil Wilson and Alun Watkins in environmental consultancy projects.

Asli was awarded her Master of Engineering degree in Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering from the University of Surrey before joining ABB Limited UK as a graduate engineer. Her role as a graduate engineer led her to involvement in projects for various organisations including BNFL and Astra Zeneca. She was then promoted to Business Support Engineer for Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Advisor for the ABB Business Unit located in St Neots. In 2005, Asli was offered the position of a PhD researcher at Cranfield University where she commenced a full time degree. Her research interests are bioaerosol emissions from composting facilities and she is currently writing up her thesis for submission.
