FIRA supports Furniture Makers Company training courses
The Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers is to run two comprehensive training courses next month for retailers and manufacturers.
The Retail Management Development course will cover a variety of management skills whilst giving delegates an insight into key topical issues which will impact upon the industry now and in the future. The five day course from 13-17 April will be lively, varied and interactive, and has been redesigned and updated to suit retail managers in the domestic furnishings industry who have the potential for, or are already at, a senior management level.
The residential course - at Highgate House Conference and Training Centre, Creaton, Northants - will be led by Mike Dudley-Jones, Director of Training with the Steinhoff Group, and independent training consultant Barbara Allan, and guest speakers will include representatives from Marks & Spencer and Furniture Village. FIRA is sending a delegate, and to book your place please click here.
Manufacturing Excellence for the UK Furniture Industry is a three day residential course at the same location from 14-16 April. Aimed at those in the operations and management of the furniture supply chain, the course will cover the principles of lean manufacturing and how to implement them, data analysis and key issues facing UK manufacturing.
Speakers from FIRA's ukfirst division, Furnisure and James Latham will be supported by guest evening speakers. There will also be two site visits to companies which have benefited from the introduction of lean techniques. For further details and to book your place, please click here.
