Review of Furniture & Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations
The Department for Business, Innovation and skills has just announced that the new minister for consumer affairs, Edward Davey, has given his consent for work to resume on the review of the UK's Furniture & Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations.
A review process was started in late 2009, where FIRA represented the furniture industry on an advisory panel looking into the need and possibility of a revision of the regulations.
The process was halted due to the General Election. However the review has now been re-started, which may lead to a full revision of the regulations.
