New standard for writing boards
FIRA is pleased to announce the publication of a new standard for writing boards:
BS EN 14434: 2010 Writing boards for educational institutions - Ergonomic, technical and safety requirements and their test methods
The new standard is a revision of a previous 2004 version and has some slightly modified test methods and requirements. The standard covers all types of writings boards (white boards, black boards etc) other than electronic smart boards. The standard assesses the writability, cleanability and ease of use of writing boards and can be used to assess the performance of writing boards in other areas (such as offices and meeting rooms).
