Meeting report from ISO TC136 available
ISO TC136, the Technical Committee responsible for developing International Standards for furniture, recently held a plenary meeting in Milan.
There has recently been a hiatus in work in the international arena, however it was agreed that work should start in revising a number of standards. At this stage it is believed that current CEN Standards will form the basis of the revision of the International standards.
The initial work programme is likely to be:
ISO 7173 strength and durability of seating to be revised using EN 1728 as a base.
ISO 7172 strength and durability of bales to be revised using EN 1730 as a base.
ISO 3055 dimensions of kitchen units to be revised using EN 1116 as a base.
ISO 7174-1 & 2, stability of seating to be revised using EN 1022 as a base.
