FIRA highlight Furniture products which stand out from the crowd with Ergonomic Excellence
A number of products have been identified by FIRA as holding outstanding ergonomic excellence, distinguishing them from other domestic and workplace furniture in the marketplace.
In order to receive the FIRA Ergonomics Excellence Award, safety, user-friendliness and the comfort and wellbeing of the user are considered, as well as whether the product is fit for purpose both structurally and ergonomically.
The most recent award winners include:

- Orangebox - Flo Chair and Newton School Chair

- Technology Desking- SmartArm Monitor Arm and Transcend Dealer Desking System
Notably - the Orangebox Newton School Chair is the first school product to receive an award from Ergonomic Excellence.
FIRA's award schemes are recognised as a valuable evaluation aid by manufacturers and buyers alike. Manufacturers can enjoy the marketing advantage that comes from the recognition that they have developed first class products and specifiers can determine eligibility requirements by demanding award standards as part of a tender document.
FIRA are looking for more products which exceed the minimum ergonomic requirements of the latest European and British standards. All items of domestic and workplace furniture and all computer workstations and accessories are eligible, provided that they comply with the latest relevant British (BS), European (EN) and International (ISO) standards, which FIRA's trials will require them to exceed.
