Colin Watson
Managing Director of the British Contract Furnishing Association (the BCFA), and Managing Director and Chairman of the Interior Design Association (IDA).

Trained as a marketeer, his early career was with major industrial groups including BTR, GEC and Thorn EMI, before joining office furniture group Arenson as Marketing and Design Director. In the mid 1990's his team designed the Kyo furniture system, which won awards in the US and in Japan, and in 2002 was listed as a top 10 product, alongside the likes of iMac, IKEA and Dyson. For five years he was Managing Director of designers Luke Hughes & Company and joined the BCFA in 2007 to lend his support for the interiors manufacturing industry.
He introduced the IDA in 2009 to represent the interests of the commercial interior design industry, and is presently engaged in the development of a formal career pathway to establish a professional status for Interior Designers.
He is a regular contributor to workplace journals on the issues of the day and sits on a number of boards including FIRA council, the European Federation of Office Furniture Trade Associations, BFC, Proskills and the Creative Industries Advisory Board.
