In 1979 Alcast, an Irish owned company went into business to design and manufacture aluminium components for the office chair industry.
Soon Alcast expanded its manufacturing operations to meet the rising demand for sub-contract diecasting of aluminium components.
Alcast now operates from a 35,000 sq. ft factory and head office at Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford with a 35,000 sq. ft warehouse in Croxton, Cambridge U.K. and an office at Thame, Oxfordshire U.K.

Gravity Castings are produced for a wide variety of purposes such as: components for Truck Refrigeration Units, Plumbing Equipment Tools, Antenna Clamping Systems, Conveyor Systems in the Meat Processing Industry, Components for the Medical and Healthcare Industry and Furniture Components for the Office Furniture Industry.

Operating to ISO9002 the company is lead by seasoned professionals who have many years experience in foundry management, diecasting and toolmaking. ETP standard was attained in 2002.
Alcast
Today Alcast employ 42 staff (incl. 7 in the UK) and has a group turnover in excess of EUR 10.00m, manufacturing annually 700 tonnes of LM25 and LM6 and 200 tonnes of LM24. The company specialises in aluminium gravity die casting and the manufacture and marketing of office chair components.
